Diablo Lake - North Cascades NP, WA Premium Print

Okay, it's not mountain biking, but sometimes you've gotta stay in shape by other means. This time is was a gravel ride on the seasonally-closed North Cascades Highway past Diablo Lake. This highway is closed in the winter as it gets too much snow to maintain. Highway crews spend months removing the snow so people can once again travel between Western and Eastern Washington without having to drive all the way around. Oh, and it's one of the most beautiful drives you will ever do. On the weekend just before the crews get it open for the season, there is a large contingent of cyclists that ride from the closed gate to the summit and back. Heck, some people ride all the way to Winthrop and back. Some years it's a road ride. Other's there are large swathes of snow and dirt on the road making a gravel bike more appropriate. This was one of those days.

Can't ride this ride without stopping along the way to take some pics. This shot is Diablo Lake with the Northern Cascades rising in the distance. Wow, these mountains are beautiful!

Our frames are 0.875" x 0.875" Solid wood with optical-grade clear acrylic. The mat-board is a 4-ply, 1.5" white mat with an attractive bevel at 45 degrees. Prints are dry-mounted to foam core to ensure smoothness. The backing is kraft paper dust cover with hanging wire included (sawtooth hanger on 5x7 sizes). Color: black.
